Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (abbreviated as CMC) is a water-soluble anionic polymer compound obtained from natural cellulose through alkalization and etherification reactions. It appears as white or slightly yellow powder or granules, odorless and tasteless. It is readily soluble in water to form a transparent and viscous colloid, but insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. With multiple functions such as thickening, stabilizing, emulsifying, bonding and water retention, and featuring salt resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and good biocompatibility, it is widely used in various fields including food processing, daily chemical production, oil extraction, papermaking and water treatment.
CMC can significantly increase the viscosity of aqueous solutions at extremely low concentrations. The formed colloid has excellent suspension properties, effectively preventing the sedimentation of solid particles and the stratification of liquids in the system, and maintaining the uniform and stable state of the product. Meanwhile, the viscosity of its aqueous solution is less affected by temperature and pH, and it can maintain stable performance within a wide range of environments.

In the fields of thickening, stabilizing, bonding and water retention, the viscosity stability, purity compliance rate and scene adaptability of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose directly determine the production application effect and comprehensive cost. Choosing our CMC products means choosing high-quality, full-category, one-stop professional solutions to facilitate the efficient development of multiple industries such as food processing, oil extraction, daily chemical production, papermaking and water treatment!
We select natural high-quality short-staple cotton cellulose as raw material and adopt an advanced integrated process of alkalization, etherification and refining. The entire production process is under closed-loop control, and the product quality strictly complies with relevant national standards. Food-grade CMC purity ≥99%, viscosity fluctuation range ≤5%, no odor, no impurities, fully meeting the safety requirements of food additives. The industrial-grade CMC has a precisely controllable substitution degree (0.6-1.2), stable viscosity and resistance to salt, acid and alkali. Its performance in scenarios such as drilling fluid and paper sizing far exceeds that of ordinary competitors. The CMC of daily chemical grade has good dispersibility, strong compatibility with various daily chemical raw materials, and is mild and non-irritating. Each batch of products undergoes three strict checks: raw material inspection, random inspection by the central control system, and final inspection of finished products, to ensure stable and reliable quality.
