Sodium sulfate (Na₂SO₄) is a salt formed by the combination of sulfate ions and sodium ions. Sodium sulfate is soluble in water, and its solution is mostly neutral. When dissolved in water, it is alkaline. It dissolves in glycerol but insoluble in ethanol. Inorganic compounds, high-purity, fine-grained anhydrous substances are called mirage. Mirabilite is a white, odorless, bitter-tasting crystalline or powdered substance with hygroscopicity. It appears as colorless, transparent, large crystals or small granular crystals. Sodium sulfate is prone to absorbing water when exposed to air, forming sodium sulfate decahydrate, also known as mirnitrite, which is slightly alkaline. It is mainly used in the production of water glass, glass, porcelain glaze, pulp, refrigeration mixtures, detergents, desiccants, dye diluents, analytical chemical reagents, pharmaceuticals, feed, etc. Sodium sulfate will transform into hexagonal crystals at 241℃. Sodium sulfate is one of the most commonly used post-treatment desiccants in organic synthesis laboratories. The upstream raw materials include sulfuric acid, caustic soda, etc.

1. Sodium sulfate is an important raw material for making glass and paper.
2. It is the largest in papermaking and cellulose industry, accounting for about 70% of the total.
3. Sodium sulfate is a component of synthetic detergent, it is a neutral salt, adding it can reduce the surface tension, increase the solubility of detergent.
4. It is the diluent of dyes and the auxiliary agent of dyeing and printing.
5. In the chemical industry, sodium sulfate is used as raw material for the manufacture of sodium sulfide, gypsum, sodium silicate and other chemical products.
