Calcium bromide
colorless cubic crystal. Odorless, salty and slightly bitter. See light easily yellow, slightly hygroscopic.
Soluble in water (solubility 102g/100ml water at 100°C) and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol .
The aqueous solution is neutral. The ion can be replaced It reacts with sulfuric acid to form. Reacts with to form yellow silver bromide precipitate.

Usage:
Calcium bromide is the calcium salt of hydrobromic acid with the chemical formula of CaBr2. In its solid state, it is a white powder.
CaBr2 can be found in drilling fluids, neuroses medication, freezing mixtures, food preservatives, photography and fire retardants.

Calcium Bromide brine is used during workover and completion operations fluids.
It provides inhibition preventing the hydration and migration of swelling clays and can be used for packer fluids or to adjust the density of other brine systems.
